Lost my job yesterday...

So, I don't know how much I will be on here for a while as I try to find another one while finishing up at this one. Basically, my company was bought out a few months ago and I was told that I was safe until January and things would be reevaluated then. But, around 4 or 4:15 yesterday the new boss pulled me into the conference room and told me there was just no more room for me anymore because he and his assistant would be moving into our office after all and, well...sorry but, that means I don't fit anymore. So, FEDGE! That is just about all I have to say about that! I'm ticked. I'm hurt. I'm scared. I'll try to do the Big Brother updates for those of you who enjoy the show. But, I am sort of beaten down right now and not feeling very Cortjo Reporty right now. I just wanted you all to know so that, if you notice that I am a little MIA, it isn't because I don't want to be here anymore or that I have forgotten about all of you. I love you all!

Hey Sweetie, My heart goes out to you. My husband lost his job over a year and a half ago and is still struggling to find one. We are those people you hear about trying to hold on to our home and pay the utilities. I completely know how you feel. I'm disabled and can't work anymore so that too is difficult. Just hang in there. You are young and have that going for you. Try to look at it as a mini vacation because before you know it, you'll be working again and wish that you had enjoyed your time off. So what do you do? Are you married or single? Try to stay close to your friends and don't let those ex bosses beat you down. That is the kind of person who drove me out of my job. And the same with my husband. What is happening to our society? Lots of xoxoxo's leenie

Hey Leenie, Thank you for your support and encouragement! I am sorry to hear about your hubby's job. I hope he finds something really soon! I am sorry, too, that you are struggling. I will keep you in my thoughts and hope that it all works out well for you soon. As for me, I am married. I am an administrative assistant...well, I was! LOL! I don't hold anything against my 2 ex-bosses. It is the newest ex-boss that I am a little peeved at. LOL! My other 2 bosses don't want me gone. But, they don't have a choice in the matter. As for what is happening to our society...Ugh! Tell me about it! Good luck to you and your hubby. I really hope he finds something soon! And, thank you again for your support and encouragement! It means a lot to me!

And, you are right, I found this job 6 years ago when I was looking so, hopefully it will be as easy this time around. Besides, who needs to stay at a job for much longer than 6 years anyway? LOL! It is time for some new scenery! LOL! Thank you again for your support and encouragement! It means a lot to me! And, I love ya too!

Oh yes, things are better now. I am sure losing that job was a blessing in disguised. I got a better job. But the pay wise I have to compromised. Cos at the time I got the job, my bills are piling up. So I took what ever was offered to me. If the pay was a little better, then this current job I am in would be ideal! How bout you? Have you found a job yet?

Go MIA. Hell, throw caution to the wind and run through the streets naked screaming at the unfairness of corporate America! I for one, would be right beside you fighting off the men! LOL This is horrible sweets and I know how you feel. But it's also a great opportunity to scream bloody murder at the moon and then sit down and have a real good think about what you really want to be doing and how it could be accomplished. I hope that you are not so dependant on some kind of income of your own, that you can't take the time to think about your dreams and how to achieve them. Sometimes a situation like this can be a blessing in disguise if we look at it that way, and sh*t I'll stop talking now, because this kind of talk is probably the last thing you need to hear right now.......................Hugs and thinking of you and wishing you the best.

I hate when companies do their employees like that. They tell you one thing and then do another, not giving you time to find a good job before they get rid of you and your position. My son changed jobs last year after 18 years with this company. But he could have stayed, but the boss knew he'd be leaving one day. He's a computer programmer for TV and Radio and they were 'farming' out the programming, and he would have had to be checking them out. He said he didn't take that job to figure out the mistakes of others but to write the programs himself, so he found him a job by word of mouth in one day! Happened to be a lady working with him whose husband worked for another company who needed a worker, so he applied and got the job the next day. But not everybody is that lucky. Hope you can find a good job soon.

Thank you. I am, fortunately, not on my own. I have a hubby who has a good job but, I still need to work. And, I hope that you are right and that I will find a new one really soon! I sure and going to try to! I am in the phase of collecting leads right now. Once my hubby helps me update my resume and make it something to knock their socks off, I will be sending it out to everyone! Thank you again for the support and encouragement! It means a ton to me!

Cortjo, I'm very sorry that you lost your job, it's hard to deal with job loss at the begining but you have to mouve on with your life and find a better job then your last job was. Maybe you should try to be unemployed for few months and if you are ready mentaly and physicaly then find a new job. I hope all works out well for you.

Hopefully something better awaits you. Sometimes we have to be forced to get better and do better. By that I mean that we can sometimes be content with the now. In todays market no job is guaranteed anymore. But I always tell people to pay attention to the warnings. And prepare to protect you and your interest. In other words if there is a hint that something may happen in the future even if you are told that it wont effect you, then you need to start looking at other options just in case.

Thank you! That is what I am hoping. That there is something better I am meant to be doing and that is why I am forced out of this situation. Trust me, I realize that I should have been looking then, now. But, I ignored my own gut and trusted that I was safe since I was told I would be. LOL! That'll teach me! Thank you for your support and your words of encouragement! It means a lot to me!
