I keep pennies coz I could use it in the public transportation. If I saw some on the street, I pick em up even if other people see me.I think it still has value and saving em is worthwhile.

I keep them and then trade them in when the gallon bucket under my bed is full. I also pick them up in the street. My grandpa kept them all and never traded them in. When he finally did he bought each of my sisters and i (theres 4 of us) new mattresses for our single beds. They add up alot over time!

I pick them up and keep them in a huge change jar and then take it to Coinstar every once in a while and cash them all in. It takes forever, but I put all my change in there, and it eventually adds up to buy something worthwhile. Last year, I changed in the whole year's worth of change and managed to get nearly everything for Christmas parties and Christmas dinner with that money. That was awesome around the holidays to not have the added expense.

I always keep pennies, too. I also pick them up if I find them on the ground. I think that they can really add up over time. I usually put them in a cup of change that I keep, and then when the cup is full of change, then I roll it all and take it to the bank to deposit. I sometimes end up with over $20, although that's not just pennies, it's other change too. I still think that over time though, it can really begin to add up!

I have a jar where I put all the spare change into at the end of the night, including pennies... I do pick them up when I see them... One year, I bought a nice stereo that way... Those little changes do add up pretty quick... I never realized how much I was missing out when I just threw them around in the house... I've been saving all the spare changes in a jar from January this year & it's upto $150 some dollars already... By the time Christmas comes around, I should be able to take care of few gifts with the spare changes I've been saving...

Yes! My mom and my husband hate pennies. I clean them out of his pants before I wash them and my mom puts them in a jar and gives them to me every sunday. I make $20 a week just on their pennies alone!

Collecting pennies is a fun hobby. When my girls were younger they would look for penies with special dates, like the year they were born. Penny jars used to come in handy for bread or milk purchases. Sometimes pennies are viewed as messages from heaven. Like iof you are missing someone and thinking of them and you find plenty of pennies that day, then they are pennies from heaven.

Well, my mom has a saying that she has passed on to me and in turn me to my children, "take care of the pennies and the dollars will take care of themselves." So, keep up with the pennies because it only takes 100 to make a $1.00.

We throw them all in a big coffee can until there are a bunch accumulated and then we cash them in and use them for something - we do all change this way and usually use it for incidental expenses while we're traveling.

Yeah, I keep pennies, those are the coins that add up the most. I always empty out my pockets and throw them on my dresser and right now there are alot of them sitting there. We keep a bank which we call piggy, its a big plastic water bottle, everytime I got extra coins I throw them in there. We call it our vacation money, someday we may have enough to take a good vacation, we've been wanting to go to Alaska, so we might get there one of these days. I think they are worth saving...

I save all my loose change. I also pick up pennies when I see them. The way I see it, "a penny saved, is a penny earned." (courtesy of Ben Franklin).

I clean for a living and at one time i cleaned in a hotel too. People always leave pennies laying around on the floor. Sometimes the silver change too. I never can figure out why. Its really annoying cause certin colors of carpet you do not know if the pennies are there untill you hear it ruining the vac. Plus its really annoying having to bend over and pick em all up. You might just as well get down on your hands and knees and crawl the entire room till you have all of them. I do not ever spend my change but i dont throw them around. All my change and the ones i find laying around go into the bottom of my cash box. When i have enough to roll, i roll em up and take em to the bank. Makes my saving look real nice. Thanks to all you that just throw your money away.

Hell ya. Money is money. I save all my small change and pick up what I see on the street. A few months ago some "stupid" lady threw a handful of penny type coins on the ground. I asked her what why huh? She didn't want them. Too much trouble. I picked them up and put them in my wallet.

Yes, I keep pennies! And nickels and dimes, too. I pick them up wherever I see them and carefully save them until I can turn them in, or I spend them for odd amounts when I shop. A hundred pennies makes a dollar, so why not?

Yes I do keep my pennies along with all of my other change. I also will pick up each penny that I see that is laying on the street too. To me they all add up. I have a can in my bedroom that I put all of the spare change into.Every once in awhile I will give it to my granddaughter, so she will have some spending money. There are times too, that I am broke and may need to get some change out of this jar for something.

My family have been through tough times. That made me realize that coins are important too.I have a coin bank along the hallway where i put pennies i got from the groceries. It is my son who uses it to buy foods in their school canteen.Sometimes my husband gets coins of bigger value to buy soda from vending machines. It is good that my kids gets to realize that coins are just as important as the paper bills.

I keep pennies, because even though you cannot purchase much with a single penny (except at the occasional store which still sells penny candy...), an army of pennies march together with much purchasing power (depending upon how many pennies you have in your army . Plus - it's always nice to be able to pay with exact change. Cheers!

I always do. But before I dont pick it up especially when in really small amounts. We have different currency, but because I have to save a lot, I pick it when I see it on the street. Also, I use it as long I can. Like for example, I bought something with cents like 15cents, they round it up to 25, so I use 10 and 5cents, so they dont have to round it up.
