Does anyone when you see a topic you want to respond to go and check the profile and the rest of the discussions that the person has started before you answer? Have you noticed there are some people that 90 to 95% of their discussions are negative about from husband to in-laws and friends and blah blah? Do you ever notice they think they are the ones that are always right and they want you to agree with it? Is like I tell my friends that are not here in mylot that I see in the real world (meaning offline friends) there are two sides to every story and dunno about you but sometimes I just wanna cover every angle of the discussion. I guess I should just type what I feel. What do you think?

This is a forum shooie, nothing more. Covering every angle of a story is never going to happen. Yes I agree that many people get on negative tangents. It happens during times of stress. We are all human. I have also observed that many of the people who answer these tangents feel the need to lecture those who make such posts and the people who answer such posts. I find this a very condescending. It is obvious that there is more than one side of the story. Perhaps if you cannot find it within yourself to understanding people who are stressed out and upset, perhaps you should just avoid such discussions rather than trying to put yourself on a pedastal of superiority. That is just a friendly suggestion, if you feel the need to type what you feel then by all means have at it. But if you have the right to say what you feel, why are you slamming others for doing the exact same thing?

I know everyone has stressful times and yes use this forum and maybe others to vent and I uity nderstand that. As far as putting myself on a pedastal of superiority. The ones I am talking about are those that say one thing and if they don't get the post they want they take the total other side to see if they can get some on that way. As for slamming people I wasn't I was talking about the ones that are obvious made up stores.

You can do what you want to do, say what you want to say and believe what you want to be believe. Just allow me to do the same. You got my hackles up a bit with the little lecture you aimed at me on the other discussion. I have no problem if you want to share your opinion whether you agree with me or not, in fact I welcome it. But please do not presume to lecture me on what, how or who I should believe. I'm a big girl and can decide for myself without your help thank you very much.

i have never looked at the profile before responding to the discussion, however when i add someone as a friend i will usually go through and look at their started discussions and see if there is any i can contribute to. i guess there are a lot of negative things, i think because people have an easier time talking about what's wrong with their life, and some not only want to start a discussion about it but are looking to see what others offer in advice. sometimes it's an outlet, i know i have started discussions about my depression, and just typing it and getting some of it out helps to ease it a little bit for a while, and for me, ever little bit matters

I know and understand speaking about things helps and by all means am not down playing those people. I wish I had somewhere to vent back in the day when I was so depressed and it got ugly for me. I am talking about those that make crap up and it is obvious that they made it up.

ahhh kinda like one of those it looks like a discussion that was started that you will never hear any response to your comment, only started for money? i hate that, the one thing about mylot that keeps me interested is when the discussion goes further than someone giving a response and it ends, if possible it is a lot more interesting to keep things going, and you never know where those conversations will take you

I've never checked anyone's profile before I respond. I am just me and what you see is what you get. If I'm right, I'm right and if I'm not, I'm not. I agree with ya, I think we should just type what we feel. Why not be honest about it?

I never really checked out the profile but I can tell you this, negative or bad stuff sells! Just watch the news right? Some people do and say anything for money. I've had some bad stuff in my life, been sad, mad, and hurt but to yak about it on and on or worse yet, make it up for attention, well forget it! I don't play that game. I agree with you 100% on the two sides deal. And you should just type what you feel... Ask, Is this for real?? LOL Have a good one :)

I'm just getting started and tring to find out what makes people react. I have a problem thing of something to discuss, but I try. Check out my profile and see how nutty I am. LOL
