Vegetarianism

There have been very few human societies in which meat or fish are not eaten, although in some parts of the world normal diet is made up largely of staple foods such as rice, with meat and fish being relatively rare additions; this has often been due to poverty rather than choice. In modern Western societies, however,'voluntary' vegetarianism is on the increase. Should we stop eating other animals? What are the moral, environmental, and health issues involved?

I don't believe we really were meant to eat meat. It is just something we started doing on our own.

your point is good, but some people believe that if we weren't meant to eat meat, why were we meant to eat plants. recent studies have shown that plants (though not as much as animals) can respond to each other and interact, but on a cellular level.

I'm vegetarian for moral, health, and environmental reasons. This is a good site on reasons to be vegetarian: http://www.britishmeat.com/49.htm
