Freelance writer

What is your view about freelance writing? and why is it rapidly growing as an online or home based job? im just curious because when i browse on the internet i see a lot of posts about this job. are there any reported cases wherein the writer wasnt paid for the job?

oh i am sure there are. i did some work for someone and they neglected to pay me and on the internet, you have very little recourse. i also find that wages for freelance writers have gone DOWN substantially. i was writing for awhile in 2004 and getting $7.00 or more for 500 words (which is quite easy) now most places will only pay you a dollar for that many words (if that!)
