do we really need this stuff for our shampoo?

1.) formaldehyde - better known as formalin, this is use in preserving death people and animals. This causes cancer, flaking, skin and eye irritation when use. 2.) Laureth Sulfate - these are use as surfactants,affect eye development on kids, liver toxicity, hair follicle and skin damage. now this is alarming, do we really need this in our shampoo to make it more beautiful?
