Most irritating, annoying or lame topic/response ever?

There are many topics out there that we wished were never opened. I am guilty of posting a topic about pickle flavoured gum once, so who am I to judge? I actually thought it was funny at that time but later on realized that this was never going to attract any attention and might just annoy people. I try to be better, even though you can never please the whole crowd (or at least not at once). What topics annoy you most? Are it those topics with referral links even though it's clearly stated not to do so, those annoying pm's about joining sites, topics about peoples problems you do not want to hear or what else? In any case you can also decide to just not read it, but on the other hand if it's blurted all over mylot in loads of discussions it's hard to totally escape from it . Read about the BUX discussions going berzerk, anyone have other things they like to add to the list?

The topics that annoy me the most are ones that ask what your age is or ones like what is your favorite color? Why would anyone really want to know or even care how old people are on here or what color they like the most?

My current theory about that is that the poster believes that because everyone has a favorite color, etc. that they will get a lot of responses. They don't really care; it is just that they think that it could become a hot topic. Unfortunately for them, many people like myself completely ignore such topics.

I too ignore them topics. But I can't help to see how many people respond to them. I guess it goes both ways. People probably respond to them thinking it is an easy response that will earn them a great big penny. ;)

I agree, even though I have made myself quilty of it a couple of times, being a bit let down by the fact no one would read or respond to the discussions on serious, quality subjects. It does not make a lot of sence though and you can hardly call it discussions, you are right about that.

Hi, Cyberfluf, By now you have probably guessed that I am a pretty easy going person by nature so nothing annoys me too much on myLot, some things in life do obviously. Any discussions that are not of interest or I feel I cannot give any knowledgable responses to I will ignore and move on. However the money making ones all the time do grate on my nerves a bit but each to their own eh! Huggles. Ellie :D

That's a good thing, live and let live . If a discussion works on my nerve I skip it or I might post a good response why I don't like it, but only if I have something substantial to say. Otherwise I just keep my mouth shot, I am not going to annoy people just for the 'pleasure' of annoying them. (I had two girls outside doing that to me today, I just can't see the fun or am I that lame, LOL!) You don't get any better from getting aggitated so I agree you best focus on fun things or in this case fun topics.

I think you already know my answer to this one! lol. Aside from the constant crap about some new paying site, I too can't stand the inane topics regarding favourite colours, what are you wearing right now? What is your sister's dogs name? And pretty much anything even remotely resembling the same. At least a topic about pickle flavoured gum is ORIGINAL. I would be far more inclined to answer that one than one of the other examples I just mentioned. Shame I missed it actually! (By the way, not sure of the context of that discussion but pickle flavoured gum sounds pretty messed up!)

LOL, I think it was only a few sentences long, I started it 2 years ago or so when I hardly was using mylot and still figuring out how to get going. It should still show up somewhere if you search for it. Thanks for the compliment, I agree that it's an original discussion if I may say so myself but it was kind of simple to be frank. But hey, we forgive a newbie right . I believe the gum was only released in japan or so...

Topics to me really aren't what bothers me the most here. I get more annoyed about people that post several discussions right in a row that are not any longer than one sentence. Those annoy me. They have no substance, they're usually full of spelling errors and are just annoying. If I'm going to respond to anything, it's going to be anything that actually looks like the user has put thought into it and is not just posting over and over again to get money from Mylot. That alone bothers me to no end. If you have a nice discussion that actually explains something and asks questions I'll probably read it. If I don't have anything to say, I will not respond, but at least I'm taking the time to read it.

Thank you for your very descriptove discussion! I agree that these discussions take up a lot of room and it seems like there hasn't been much thought put into it other then making a sh*tload of posts at a time to earn more money of mylot. Not reading or replying to them is perhaps the best way to handle these topics as non replied topics will earn you less and will make it less attractive to post such short topics. You have a very valid point there, thanks for adding that perspective. I hadn't thought of adding that yet .

I've seen lots of discussions here in mylot that I find kinda stupid to ask.. But I just skip to them. some of these are "how do you comb your hair?", "how do you eat ____",.. it was kinda annoying, where in fact, we already know how to do that things..

I can see why this could be bothersome, those are things you can hardly discuss about because basicly everyone does them the same, and you are right that everyone here allready knows that (at least, I hope every average, healthy 16 year or older person knows how to comb their hair). Thanks for responding!

hi there. if you were to ask me, there is no annoying topic or lame topic for me. i respect other people if they think of putting up any topics that they like:) there is no big deal if they put those topics anyway. its just up to you if you read and respond to the topics:)

It's a good thing that you are so open minded, I have respect for that. By calling a discussion annoying I do not nessecairly mean I do not respect the people who post them, they still can be nice and hardworking people. It's better to judge people on an act because behaviour can be changed and changing a person is a lot harder, and in my opinion most of the time not neccessairy if we indeed respect each other. Thanks!
