ok.... so this author of "the fast food diet" wants to buy my domain : slendersizeme.com He says his final offer is $1000.00 as of today- I would like to get more- I also have no clue on how to do this? He tried to buy it from me after threatening me back in 2006- saying I did not own the rights to it- but I did infact register it with the state of MI before he tried to- so after that he offered 1500. I declined, wanting $5000.00 Can anyone help me out here??? any suggestions- I really don't want to be taken for, especially from a jerk like him! And I really do need $5000.00 for a security deposit for subsidized housing. Thank you, -tanya aka- spy

Well Tonya the way I look at it if he really wants it he will pay you what you want. lol. He has wanted it for 2 years now so I am thinking he will pay you much more. Just tell him this is the price take it or leave it but be prepared he may walk away or come back with a counter offer. I am sorry to say I do not know how you would go about tranfering the rights over to him. Maybe you can call city hall or the local town house and find this out? Weight loss is a billion dollar industry I actually think you are undercutting yourself for the domain name. Try and see if others in that market are looking for a new domain name and you may have a bidding war on your hands. Good Luck!

so he threatened you in 2006? well then it's gonna cost him more hahah Try this website below to check the value of your domain name http://www.dnscoop.com/ I still think you have to charge him more then $ 5,000 :)

I forgot that you asked how to do it since your name is registered as owner of the domain if he agrees to pay the amount you asked, tell him to send the money first along with his name and contact info after his payment is cleared, give his name to the registrar and tell them he is now the new owner of that domain. then they will either contact him to confirm or he will have to confirm that. the easiest way to sell your domain is park it at Sedo.com both you and he will create an account there for free and then you can do transaction safely. I had a domain on sale there but it's not an attractive name so it didn't sell. I bought it from yahoo so I notified them to cancel it.

Try to search the internet more regarding selling your domain name. Grammasnook seems to have a great information about a site who will give more than what that guy who threatened you can offer. I saw the figures it's 60,000 USD. Imagine he is trying to buy it from you for only 1,000 USD. If you can earn more than what you need, which is $5,000 you said, then why not, by all means sell it to a deserving person not to some guy who threatens you just to get what he wants. Then message him saying that you sold it and got paid with this amount. It's like a slap on his face.

As I mentioned in another article of yours, try selling the domain name on Sitepoint.com

Why not offer it for sale on a domain sale site that can act as a broker for you, then you don't have to deal with him at all, and you don't have to worry about the ins and outs of transferring the domain to him? Also means you might get other offers... If he offered $1500 already, it seems nuts to say $1000 is his final offer. If I were you, I would get yourself a standby domain and load you site onto it ready and start shifting your traffic across (If you know email addresses of any regular site visitors) so that you can make the switch if you need to. If you can maintain your traffic on a new domain, then it will be less of a problem to sell off the existing domain (just see how little 'GoDaddy' will sell you 'slendersizeme.info for...)

Hi, When you are dealing with this level of income to question price on; you have to consult an attorney. Call an attorney's office. If you have nothing to pay them, do not worry. I have used attorneys before with them not expecting to be paid anything by me. Often they will handle a case that is of interest to them. If that attorney isn't into it; ask if they know of anyone that does. You get the idea. Go daddy is going to undersell you like Ebay. Don't go there. You have much to offer; and don't want to undersell it. Best wishes.

Good day... Why not try to rent it to him. I mean it's a better deal for both of you. You can work the paper out like he rents it for a minimum of 5 years he has the right to buy it at a specific amount. It's good for you so you can have a continues income and also good for him because he doesn't have to put on a one time big time investment with market uncertainties. Note: Be sure though that you seek legal experts regarding this.
