So myloters, I have never been to a dollar store, so I have no clue how it works, but I would really like to know if Dollar Store is just a name, or they really do sell things priced at $1 and below that? Do enlighten me!

It all really depends on what dollar store you go to. We have two different dollar stores here where I live. One being A Buck Or Two and the other being Dollarama. The Buck or Two store is a dollar and over. Some things being in there for $10. However at the Dollarama everything is a dollar. You can even pick up things for 2 for a dollar, 3 for a dollar and even 4 for a dollar. It really all depends on what you are buying. I can honestly say that I am addicted to the Dollarama store more so than the Buck or Two Store.

I always go to the dollar store. Yea, their stuff is a dollar per piece. There are some items that you will pay a dollar for 2 like the greeting cards. Kitchenwares too you can get 3-3 pieces a dollar. That is when you go to the Dollar Tree. But when you go to Dollar General or mighty dollar? NOPE!!! they are not selling items for a dollar. It is more than that. So, if you want items dollar a piece go to the DOLLAR TREE the one in GREEN... other dollar stores are not really a dollar. only the DOLLAR TREE.. I remember are selling items for a dollar. Good luck.

We have a dollar tree here and I love going to see what they have. Alot of things are really good deals for only $1. Everything in the store is only $1. I could spend $20 or more easily in that store.

I cant imagine never having been to a dollar store. What is the reason for this? You don't think there would be anything good in there or maybe just live to far from one to bother to go. I go to dollar stores all the time I love them! You can find different things at them all the time. I don't know how they can afford to sell the items for only $1 but they do. Some dollar stores are better then others with the products they sell. Dollar General & Family Dollar arent typically what I consider a dollar store as they sell many different items at all different prices. When I think of a dollar store I mean ones like dollar tree that sells all the items at $1. Lately more and more dollar stores that always sold things for only $1 now are starting to sell things for more then $1 as well such as cereal that is $1.25 a box etc. Some of the things are worth spending the extra quarter or so on but it does irritate me that they are changing the way they have always sold things.

Oh the reason why i have neevr bene to a dollar store is because I live in a country (Italy) that do not have them. I have heard about them, and even wish Italy had one, but they don't.

I have never bene to one, so I won't really understand the quality against price thing...but somethings no matter how cheap an offer is, I think a person does need to make sure it is of good quality.

The Dollar General stores sell ites for $1. I just got a ton of hurricane supplies - water, tape, batteries, snacks, etc for $10. What it would have cost me for 2-3 items at the regular store.

We have an actual Dollar Tree which is a store where everything is either $1 or 2/$1 or 3/$1. The stuff you can find in the Dollare Tree is really quite nice. You do have to be careful, because some stuff is junk too. Then we have a Family Dollar and Dollar General. These are stores that have things for cheap, but not everything is $1 or less. They are more of a discount store.

Most things that Dollar stores sell are very inexpensive but not all of them are sold for one dollar. The ones in my area, which go by several differnt names by the way, have actually improved their product lineup in the past couple of years so they now carry things that you actually want to buy and at a great saving!

Well, it depends on which one you go to. There are dollar stores that sell things for very cheap but aren't just one dollar. But there are alot of them that everything is literally a dollar. It's obviously not as good of quality as if you paid more than just a dollar for something. But they just built a new dollar store by where I live and it's one where everything is a dollar and I was able to find a couple good buys. I bought a few very cute plastic(thick plastic not thin flimsy plastic) cups and a super cute spray bottle, ya know just random misc things.

Lucky you, they need to build a Dollar Store this side of the world, or maybe I should invest some cash and open my own

I go to a store called Dollar Tree and nothing in it is over a $1. There are items less than one dollar. It is a very good store for buying a variety of things, toiletries, soaps , dish detergent, arts and crafts, you name it they got it. They do not specialize in major things like kitchen appliances, Microwaves, crockpots etc. Just little simple things. When you go in these stores, things are so cheap you end up spending more than intended.
