I am so psyched right now. Since I have made my decision to go back to school and work full-time I have felt so much better. Then I started to worry I would not be able to find a school that would accomodate my working schedule. We have one university, one college and a community college in my area. Well, after looking at each of their web sites I decided the CC would be my last choice. Simply because their web site sucks. I mean it is cluttered and they do not even offer an email address for general info. Come on. Anyhow, the university was the only one to answer me back and guess what??? Their education courses are in the late afternoon. Works beautifully into my work schedule. Now I just have to set up an appointment with the education director to make sure I can take grad courses....I am sure that I can since I already have my BA. But either way I know it is doable. I almost can't believe I am going back to school right now. But this is the happiest I have been in forever. I should have just got off my rump years ago and done it. It makes sense. It feels right. It is what I want. And it makes me happy. And no matter what anyone else says I know this is the course my life should take right now. I haven't settled on this university just yet since I have to meet with them and get my transcripts (since I am not sure if I still have a copy-it was almost 8 years ago) and hopefully hear from the other college. If I have not heard from them by next week I will just wait until I have my transcripts in hand and go to meet with them in person. This is fun. How many of you out there admit that you are school junkies? Cause some of us actually enjoy the smell and feel of a new notebook....AHHHH AMazing. LOL

Congratulations. I hope you get into a school soon. I have my BS and my MS. Yes, I'm a school junky, too. I'd get a PHD if I had the money. I certainly have the time with only 12 hours of work each week. I'm glad this is the right time for you. I hope work and college together won't be too much for you. Take care and best of luck in your endeavors.

Thanks for the support. And I know it will be challenging, but it would have been more challenging had I chosen to pursue my Nursing....having to work crazy hours broken up into odd shift hours....UGH. This one so far seems to fit in with my work scehdule and life in general. Plus, I worked my way through college the first time. Two part-time jobs and full class load. Of course I was a lot younger. LOL But with Mylot on my side I will survive. Thanks again.

I loved going back to college. I waited until I was 37 to finish my Bachelors degree, it was the best decision I ever made. I hated high school because I couldn't wait to go to college, I did for one year and got a great job making a ton of money. Then I lost that job, hindsight is always 20/20, you will be happy to be in a college environment again. "Pencils ready......"

I can't wait to get it finalized. I have to meet with the Director once I have my transcripts in hand. But I think I will feel more comfortable in that environment. I mean I love my friends, but sometimes I know they are thinking, "she's lecturing again...." LOL At leats now I'll have some exposure to people who want to discuss some big stuff and I can leave the gossip at work. LOL And I am a firm believer it is never too late to get your degree. But you are right on about the 20/20....I was an idiot before. LOL

Thank you and you know ever since i made this decision I have felt like my old self, happy about life, happy about everything. And I don't feel too exhausted to get things done either. Honestly, I think once I do actually get back in I am going to keep going no matter what. Even if it is a class a semester. It's the challenge like you said that draws this out of me. And I miss that. So take a class. Have fun with it. Think about this way. you said you've been thinking about it for several years...well what if you had taken a class or two over those years each semester. For me I would have had my Doctorate in anyhting if I had done that. SO take a chance on yourself. You'll be happier. Good luck and let me know if and when you decide to go back.
