While I was surprised at some of these on the list, like Truck Driver and Waiter/Waitress positions, I was not at all suprised at by the ones for Garbage Collector and Working in the Medical Field. When I went to school for Medical Assisting, we had to practice doing shots on each other. Which I never felt comfortable with. We also had to learn the proper way of re-capping and disposing of the needles. I am clumsy and one mistake could be a death sentence. There was also times when I was called to take care of AIDS patients. Do to my accident proness, I had to politely declined. In the Medical Field, I am sure that you are aware of the need to be alert and accurate, the first time. So I can certainly vouch for the fact that it can be both mentally and physically demanding. Does your job or any job fall under the catagory of hazardous to your health? Tell us about it. http://www.qualityhealth.com/psp/6-worst-jobs-for-your-health/featuredArticle.jspa?rf=29932&mc=MTQ0MjA4NzA.

Well I have been a bartender and waitress. In my state it's now prohibited to smoke in bars and restaurants, but years ago I was surrounded by smoke and had to lift heavy trays, deal with rude customers, etc just as the list states. Now I am a bank teller and sit at a window in front of a computer all day and am at risk for carpal tunnel and eye injury as stated on the list. Many jobs have at least some minimal risk. I wasn't really shocked at the list at all. I think many people would fall into one of the categories listed because one is very broad ("Desk Junkies") encompassing all office workers. Also, delivery drivers and truck drivers must deal with traffic and potential road hazards and other dangerous drivers, etc. Lastly, there are many healthcare workers in the world as well, so almost everyone would fit into one of these categories in one way or another. It's unfortunate. :-/

You are right. But some of these, I had never thought of before. This is why safety and "Universial Precautions" are so important.

That is indeed very dangerous that you work in that kind of environment. Well as for me I don't consider my job as very dangerous as I am just an ordinary employee in a company that is an 8-5 job for me. I think you should try to be very careful especially in dealing with people who have contagious disease. You may not contract it but you can also ba a carrier of the disease when you come home and your loved ones are the one that can get the disease.

I thought about being a nurse years ago when I was almost turning 18 but I dropped out of high school which was stupid of me at the time I listen to a girl who at the time I thought was a best friend. She had the idea of dropping out of school getting her g.e.d. and then going to nursing school. I tryed and tred to get my G.E.D the last time I re took it I failed it by one point. So all along the years before I became did abled i worked fast food jobs with having customers yelling at me. I was never a waitress but I did work at Dunkin Dounots night shift so in a way it was like being a waitress because the custemers that ate there some of them set at their tables. A lot of them were coffee drinkers. So in between making or decorating dounuts I did wait on customers. The worst acting ones that kept getting coffee refills hardly ever left a tip. So i hated to see those customers came in. So I agree it is a stressful job. Now some of the customers were very nice and would leave tips. At the same time I do regreat quiting school at that age. I am glad I did do home school to remake up for it.
