guitar vs the radio

why is it that when a musician plays along with the radio on an instrument like the guitar, he always plays louder and much worse than usuall? any opinions?

I am not really sure I understand what you mean. Maybe it is not as refined as you get in good stereo music from a disc etc because the songs are carefully processed and every minute detail is taken care of when music is produced. But in a radio you get the real deal which has not been processed through any filters. There maybe some reverbs,distortion and there maybe a lot of other factors as well including probs with your own speakers.

that makes sense. but what i actually meant is right now my husband is trying to play along to slither and his guitar is so much louder than the son gi can't begin to understand how he can even hear it to play along with.
