Have you (to those who do not have their real names in their myLot ID) ever disclosed your name to "friends" you've met here in myLot? If yes, why were you inclined to do so? If no, what would make you disclose your name? I know a lot of us enjoy the freedom that comes with anonymity over here and I was just wondering.

I do not mind disclosing my real name. In fact mimpi is my pet name. You know what, I feel, a little bit of brains can help us fight the improprieties on internet. Disclosing real name is not that of a problem if you take care of other little things.

Hello Mimpi! My nickname in real life is Sisi. But my immediate family sometimes revert to calling me Beebom as a sign of affection, at least that's what they tell me.

Ya, Lot of time, Infact before writing this response I just disclosed my name in one the discussion. The Name I use in the MyLOt is my signature name in internet. Also I one more Signature name in Interenet I wont disclose that to anyone. But I free to tell my name anywere anytime... Becuase I Love My Name.. and My Name is 'Nayak' ... 'Jayant Nayak'(read it in James Bond Style) he hee..

I assume it's better to be called Giant than Little? I'm glad you like your name. I like mine too but in the Philippines, it's a bit common. I know two other people who share the same first and middle name with me. But here in the US, when people know my name, some of them would say it's also their grandma's name or something. I guess my name is considered "generational" over here. Take care.

I do. I'm not afraid to post my real name. My middle and last are off limits. There's no real reason to be that personal, lol. I've heard lots of stories about people using someone's names to get into accounts on the internet. And I don't want that happening. I do like being anonymous because it makes me appear cooler than I am, lol. But yeah, my name is Court.

I'm pretty careful with all the information I put out there, I've heard too many horror stories about identity theft. I guess a cool person deserves a cool name and Court sounds cool. You get to say "No one messes with the Court!".

I don't believe I have told anyone my real name. I have referred people to other sites I use, so, they get to learn my nickname (my username for other sites is megromantic). Though, I guess it isn't hard to learn my name from my nickname (Meg). lol Anyway, my name is Megan. (=

I didn't even try to work it out like that.
Meg being my nickname and Romantic comes from me being "Queen of the New Romantics" (inside joke, lol)

Honestly, I don't mind giving out my first name. i think that one of the reasons i do not mind giving my first name out is that for the most part it is not blieved when i tell it. My first name is one of the months of the year. It is December. So most people do not believe that is my real first name, but it is.

Were you, by chance, born in December? One of my closest friends is named April. And another one that means January in Cambodia. I've met people named January, May, June, and Agosto (I think it has something to do with August). Thanks for posting!

I think I have told one of my friends I met on mylot my real name and I was inclined to share it with him because I found out me and him share the same first name which i thought was kind of neat,and I am not afraid to share my first name because even though it is not my favorite name I am not embarrassed about it and I would not lie about it or refuse to tell someone it.

Well I just didn't disclose my name to a friend. But I have given my name in a discussion that I started, I don't mind anyone knowing my name. It is no secret. If any of my MyLot friends wants to know my name just ask. I will be honored to give it to you. I have made a friend here and we exchanged name and email address. So we can keep in touch outside of MyLot.
