Cousin has thyroid cancer

I found out the other day that my cousin has thyroid cancer, along with two disk in her back rubbing together and causing infection. She actually went to the doctor for the back pain. They found the thyroid problem while doing x-rays for the back stuff.
She will have to have thyroid surgery first and then back surgery once she's healed up. It's very sad because she has four small children. She is only 28 years old. She is doing pretty good with it so far.

Sounds like your cousin is sure having a rough time right now. And for them to find cancer when she was going for her back pain. That's just horrible. I hope they caught her thyroid cancer early enough to remove the problem, so she can be well again.
Hope she has help with the 4 little ones. That's inspiring that she is doing pretty well with all this tough news so far. May this response send many positive vibes and blessings to her...

That's good that your cousin's grandmother is willing to leave her own home to stay with her and take care of the kids and help out until after her surgeries. She will need plenty of assistance, I suspect. I just keep thinking that the cure rate for most cancers is pretty high these days. I don't know what it is for thyroid cancer but the percentages are actually encouraging. I've got my fingers crossed for her.

Well, the statistics are sure on her side if only 1% die from thyroid cancer. That's good to know. Yes, hope they caught it plenty early.

I will keep her in my prayers, that is so very sad and I do wish for the best for her.. I really hate to hear of a young mother having to go through something this horrible.. Tell her to keep the faith and God will see her through this.. God Bless her and Keep her safe, I will remember her in my prayers.. Good Luck to her..

So sorry to hear about your cousin. My cousins wife had thyroid cancer too and she is doing well now after the surgery. My husband has disks in his back that are rubbing together and the only thing that can be done for him is pain pills.
I will pray for your cousin and keep her in my thoughts. Please let me know how she is. :)

My husband has deteriorated disks and the nerves are touching each other. That's what I meant, sorry. They talked about surgery but he decided against it because they told him he might never walk again so now he is on pain pills and they don't really help much. He needs the strongest pain pills he can get. I hope your cousin gets better.

Oh!1 that is so sad. We will keep her o=in our prayers. She is still young to have that health problems. How did she get that sickness? over work or something? Well, My hubby always suffers back pain but when we went fro check up nothing is wrong with the spines.. well. just over fatigued. I just wonder what are the symptoms you cousins has? and why it became cancer?

Thyroid cancer is just like other cancers. There really isn't a cause like with lung cancer. She has a nodule on her thyroid gland. Many people get nodules and hardly any are cancerous, she is just one of the unlucky ones.
Some symptoms are:
horseness
sore throat
swelling of the thyroid gland
nodules on the thyroid gland
