Well guys as you'll know now days the net and may other PC's and pen drives are filled with all kinds of viruses, trojens, worms. So how often has your computer been a victim to viruses? What do you basically do when you have a virus, scan your PC format your hard disk etc? Also which is the worst virus u have been infected with so far? Did any of your hardware get ruined because of a virus too?

Hi. It will be really hard to find someone who's system has not been affected by some malicious code. I last scanned my system with "antivir" and it detected 116 infections. Before that i was using AVG and since it never showed any detections I believed that I was mills away from these bad codes. I just wish that I never come across any such code.

I don't think it really matters to him. I think he was just trying to start a discussion. Nothing wrong in asking people about the experience they might have had with anti viruses, and what they do fix them.

With all due respect doctorul this is a community for discussion. If you don't happen to like a particular discussion as the others rightly said simply don't reply rather than trying to be sly or harsh. Simple enough.

The last time I was hit my a virus was when I was using Limewire. I can't really say I was hit by it though; because my Antivirus software stopped before it could download it. I can't remember the name of it; but I did have a virus that even my software could not delete. No matter what I tried it just kept popping up all the time. Finally I found away a got rid of it. But so far; lately I haven't had any.

I was recently attacked, and it took me almost all of a day to get rid of the spyware. After that, I loaded three other spyware programs on my computer, in addition to my antivirus program I already had. I read in PC Magazine from one of the guys that tries all these programs that he has at least three spyware programs on his own computer. So, I added more on my computer for better protection.

I have been many times by virus or trojans. The mostly I get is from pendrive or flashdisk. So I install an antivirus to prevent it. Now after I have installed antivirus in my computer, my computer can detect to virus or trojan from pendrive. But from internet I don't know that I infected or not. Because I every time check my computer with antivirus there is not virus in the list box.

Same here mate. My college PC's used to be filled with all kinds of virus and trojens. And i always needed to get my stuff on PD home. and that was one of the main reasons my PC used to get infected pretty often.

Fortunately none of the viruses that have hit my computer have affected any hardware. Keeping an antivirus is a must nowadays. it is so easy to get affected even while using search engines. I feel I have consistently been attacked by various virus over the years and must have quarantined and fixed thousands. I am not into viruses so dont keep track of the one that have hit me. I distinctly remember the w32 ronto something virus - though it was some small time virus only. Then the folder htp something virus which kept creating 602 kb folder impressions in every folder i used to visit.
