Do you work on a computer all day - does it make you tired?

I'd like to go on the internet more in the evening, including, reading what all you lovely people have to say on myLot! Trouble is, I'm spending so long at the computer, it makes my eyes really tired and me very tired too! Apparently I heard that it is the electro-magnetic energy field that the computer screen sends out! Well will be interested in what you all have to say!

I am used to sitting on the computer the whole day long right from morning up till late night. Nothing happens to my eyes as such. i have got used to such a schedule. I have a LCD monitor does that kind of make a difference as compare to a CRT (Cathode Ray Tube) monitor? I heard that an LCD monitor is more soothing to the eyes. Is that actually true?

I believe so. Actually replaced the CRT monitor on my computer, over a year and a half ago now, getting a larger sized screen into the bargain. A lot of people seemed to have the same idea, because when I took my old monitor to the local council recycling centre, there were a great many CRT monitors there...

I don't use my computer much in the evening, because I use it in the daytime. I know that in winter I will have to work under electric lighting, but I prefer good natural light when I'm working, and I try to have frequent short breaks to rest my eyes. I don't think my eyes get too tired, and I get tired from my activities more than from looking at the screen, but I agree it isn't good to be looking at a screen for too long.

Thanks for marking my response. I drink green tea, herbal tea or coffee when I'm working, so I have a break when I put the kettle on, and look out of the window waiting for it to boil.

If only I could be disciplined enough to take more screen breaks! At work, I seem to get pretty thirsty, so am always drinking plenty of water, plus the occasional herbal/ fruit/ roibosh tea. This causes me to take plenty of loo breaks! An additional benefit here, is that the toilets/ restroom is up a flight of stairs, so get a bit of exercise too!!!
