My daughter is starting to love gardening. It has taken awhile and she is 18 years old. She likes getting our own homegrown veggies and saving money on the grocery bill. She also loves to can! She loves making relishes and pickles and making jams too. I am very proud of her! She loves canning the veggies we get from the garden and those we get from the farmers market as well. She loves harvesting the veggies and loves harvesting fresh herbs from the garden and the aerogarden.

I would be proud of her, too. Sounds like you raised her well. I hear, though, that she also loves to go to the mall. That is healthy, too! Say, has she joined myLot yet? Is she on my friend list? Did you remember to turn notify on for me on your friend's list yet. I am about to go start a discussion, so I guess I will find out, lol.

My daughter is 14, she isn't real thrilled with gardening. I hope watching us will help her later. There are so many people that can not grow their own food. I just wnt to make sure she can if she has to.

Well maybe when she is older she will show an interest in it. Atleast she is seeing you and you are showing her what to do.

I remember when my son was very young say 4 years or so he would always tag along with me while I do my gardening. If someone comes over i would show them around the garden and they would ask the names of the different plants and I used to tell them, this chap as a kid picked up all the names. He used love pottering around the place. He loved harvesting the vegetables. Then when he grew up I never found him to be very interested. Now he is 24 and is away working when he comes home I find always in the garden taking photographs to show his friends. He keeps admiring the garden.I hope he takes to gardening as much as my husband and I do.Its such a wonderful hobby that can relax you totally.

Yes, my children like to be in the garden and they each have a little plot of garden for them to do what they wish with. One year my son made a little pond with some left over sheeting and used an old bath rack for a bridge, he planted the bath rack up with plants. My little girl likes to plant flowers in hers. They like to go to the garden centre to choose plants for there gardens. They aslo like to help me grow the veggies in the garden and do the watering

WOW perhaps your son will be an engineer someday lol. He has a great imagination and very smart thinking with that bridge!
