If so, what do you know how to make? What would you like to know how to make? I can only make limited types of candy as I'm not very good at it. I can make Asian sesame seed candy that is pretty good and I can also make a delicious English toffee. I would love to learn how to make nut brittles, taffy (tried before but I ended up with something that looked like a glass bowl), and candy bars. My candy is all made without the use of eggs or dairy products so sometimes that proves to be a bit of a challenge, but I love challenges.

I'm a black licorice/anice fanatic - always have been. I would probably eat it daily if I could.

No I do not know how to make candy and from somewhere I got the impression that candy making is hard, particularly lolipop type candies because they cook fast, maybe I just saw this on a movie, who knows. Im not a fan of candy so I do not see me doing it in the future unless its making fudge bars with the nuts in them, they are so good, I got them once in the Boscovs department store but Im talking like Xmas, man I have no discipline with those things so I just avoid it with a passion. My father is totally opposite where he makes loaves of bread, beef jerky with his dehydrator and whatever else the occasion calls and he's so disciplined about it, barely even touches half the stuff he makes, its just a hobby he has (when we were growing up he always had a project around the house, tehe)--some people are just like that, his mom must of been like a Stepford wife or something because all his four sisters are very meticulous and creative (suprised to two could mix ).

I think with hard candies like that you have to be very fast. Your dad sounds like how my grandma can make anything like that. But she doesn't make beef jerky she makes us persimmon jerky... it's so yummy!

The only candy I make usually is candy apples or caramel apples. I know how to make a potato candy though with leftover potatoes and peanut butter. I think candy making is kind of a lost art. I dont know how many people still do it. I like homeade candy. It is reallly good and has a non manufactured taste.

I mostly started making candy from scratch because so many manufactured candies contain dairy. So I wanted more variety and started making my own. Are candied apples easy to make?

Yes, I usually just make it from a kit in the store.
