can you sleep with the lights on? i used to hate it when the lights are on and i'm trying to sleep. even with eyes closed, i feel like the light is trying to penetrate my eyelids and is forcing them to open. hee hee.
but when my baby was born, it was necessary that a low light is on all through the night because my baby moves around a lot, and i'm afraid that i can't see immediately if a pillow or a blanket has covered her face and she can't breathe if we sleep with the lights off.
made me think that having a baby really requires a lot of adjustment on the part of the parents. but that's okay. anything for my little angel:)
do YOU sleep with the lights on? or do you prefer to sleep in total darkness? or are you somewhere in between (you sleep with a low light on)?

Your situation is a different one and I agree anything and everything for the little one. Though I do not have kids of my own (and I consider myself a kid still) I have recently become an uncle and have had first hand experience of living close to a new born. Must say it is quite an experience.
Lights on/off make absolutely no difference to me at all. It is the transition between the two that wakes me up.
I am a light sleeper by nature and often wake up when someone switches the state of the lights it more often than not wakes me up.

I find it hard to sleep at all if there is light or noise of any kind. I'd have to be very tired indeed to sleep in those conditions.

I can't sleep very well at all with the lights on. The ideal setting for me is as dark and quiet as possible! I have definitely been really, really tired in the past and fallen asleep with them on without realizing it but if I tried to go to sleep at will with them on I would find it hard.
