Finally got my new laptop!

Got a new laptop, an Asus U6SG, from the one of the local big IT show, Comex, today. To be very frank, I have been drooling for this model since I spotted its release 3 months ago, but knowing how things work in the IT industry, I decided to wait a while for the prices to drop. And it did, I haven't had time to try it out yet, but just having it sitting quietly on my desk, is enough to bring a little joy to a long and tiring week. (Even though my wallet is bleeding!) I know how geeky all this sounds, but hey, don't you have a dorky happy moment too?

Asus U6SG?? Is that the small small laptop that costs less than 1K?? hehe =D As far as i know, i only know about that small laptop by asus and i wanna buy that as it's very small and it really suits me prefectly.. lol =D

That's the eee series, I like them but its kinda pointless for me since none of them is powerful enough to run the stuff I need for work. The one I got burnt a S$2798 hole in my pocket =x

Congrats you have a good quality laptop. You're a good buyer you know what to buy and when to buy it. As for me as a tech support ASUS is one of the tough laptop I ever heard.

Thank you :) I had the chance with work with a few Asus laptops before and they all survived the hell I put them through (I'm a software developer!), that is why I like the brand for its laptops.

Congrats on getting your new laptop. I tend to wait when I see a new model too, as waiting gives the manufacturers time to iron out all the bugs. :-)

i know the feeling.. after dreaming for it for some time, i finally got a new laptop, a macbook 2.4ghz intel core2duo 2gb ddr2 sdram.. it was great, and now it made me a mac person.. yes, my wallet is still bleeding, but its all worth it.. :-)

Hehehe I know what you mean :) I thought about getting a mac but I'm more of a developer then a designer, the extra cost for a mac just so I can get better colors is just not worth it. It's a nice machine though :)

Lucky...I've been wanting one for a long time now. And I've been saving up, but of course stuff gets in the way and I no longer have enough cash left. I hope you enjoy yours, though. I'm looking to get a gaming laptop. I'm not a hardcore gamer, but I want one anyway, lol. And I don't think your geeky, I'm jealous lol.

Just like you i like many things but i always wait for the prices to drop down and then buy the stuff. Hehehe.... Enjoy using your new laptop my friend. Keep experimenting different things with it. you'll get familiarized with the features pretty soon that way.
