Entering High School as a Grade.9 student, from oldest in elementary school to youngest in high school. From being used to only having 200 students at school and knowing everyone, to having 2000 students and only knowing 10 of them. Any of you ever felt that "butterfly" feeling before high school? I recently went to high school orientation and I literally didn't know anyone.. I went to where our names, and class numbers we're posted. I saw one of my friends, then another, and another. That day we all stayed together, as a small group. Everything already felt crowded, just us grade.9's at orientation. I couldn't imagine the school with all the other students from grade.10, grade.11, and grade.12. Any advice of some sort for my debut into high school?

Yeah just lay back and take it easy, then everything will go fine!By the way, is it normal to be 2000 students on a high school in america? Here in norway we are like maximum 600 students.

Take a deep breath and relax. Most of the other kids in your grade are feeling the same way that you do but you will meet new friends and, before you know it, you will feel more comfortable in your new school. I remember when I started high school I was terrified but it turned out to be a great experience. The classes were more interesting, there were more clubs and activities and I met some life long friends I hadn't known before. I'm sure the upper classmen will still tease the 9th. graders but look at it as a right of passage...everyone goes through it and you'll get to torment the 9th. graders next year.
