Smoking has been banned in my couny from public buildings. It makes it so much nicer t go to a resturant for dinner.

I am a smoker but I can wait until I am outside and away from people. It is what we call respect for other people!

I'm glad to see there are people that care. So many smokers dont care if others dont want to be around it.

As a smoker, I would say yes and no. In family oriented places yes. if it is bars, clubs, etc., then no it shouldn't be banned.

No Smoking - No Smoking
Maybe have a smoking section. One reason I would never go to bars is becuase of all the smoke. I do understand that the majority of people going to bars also smoke. but i think there are also a lot of people like me that would avoid them with all the smoke.

I agree with you, smoking section would be awesome for these places. Everyone should have rights, smokers and non-smokers.

It would be nice. We are on the verge of getting smoking out of restaurants here in Phoenix on this next election. I hope it goes through. It is terribly unpleasant when you eat but especially with a baby around!

I hope you get it passed aa well. Its not really fair for the people that dont smoke to have to be around it and palute their lungs.

I live in a city where it has been banned. It is so much nicer. Although I feel sorry for smokers, they only made up 20% of the population, and 80% of us were having to deal with second hand smoke. Although I could always walk away, it really bothered me to hear news of serving staff dying of lung cancer even when they were non-smokers, just because they were exposed to it constantly at work.

Yes smoking should be banned at public places as the smoker has no right to mk the people around him uncomfortable with the smoke he blows out. Moreover smoking is injurious to health for both active as well as passive smoker.

Yes, it should be ban. I go for that because I am not a smoker myself. I am even pissed off with people who smoke near me. I just can't stand with the smell. They also ban smoking in school.

me smoking outside - Thanks for holding your breath
I am a smoker..who chooses to smoke outside.. However once when I was in college..me and some other smokers were outside eating our lunch, when some NON smokers came out and threw a fit because our smoke was bothering them...to that I say..Thank you for holding your breath while I smoke...I have enough respect to go outside..they should have had enough respect to live us alone lol

Smoking is a personal choice.. with a very impersonal by-product.. namely smoke.. Second hand smokers or passive smokers are just as susceptible to smoking related health issues .. for technically no fault of theirs other than being in the vicinity of a smoker... I agree with smoking being banned from public buildings or as has been suggested earlier in this discussion, restricted to specific places meant for smoking.

Here you can't smoke in restaurants, bars, anywhere inside and a lot of places you can't even smoke near the entrance. :) I like it a lot and this is coming from a smoker. I may smoke, but that doesn't mean everyone else should have to. ;D I'm quitting soon anyways heh..

yes. Many people have breathing problems and can not be around it. My daughters asthma reacts even when she walks by someone that has the cigerette smell on them

Smoking is a choice that people make despite the health concerns. People who do not smoke should not be subject to the second hand smoke of those who have a choice.

i use to be a smoker and it really bothered me when i had no way of having that "relief" that some call smoking. even though i feel that there is major health concerns surrounding second-hand smoke, i feel that there should be some compromise. putting up barriers, separating parts of the building etc. so everyone is happy.

I use to be a smoker and agree that it should be banned. I am pregnant now and don't want to breath the air. Where I live you can't smoke within 25 feet of a public place or door.
