Senator Obama won the nomination not with the support of the people but with the support of the Good Old boys. Is this the change and hope he was talking about? If the Super Delegates would have been bound by the vote of the people in their state would Senator Clinton have been the nominee? Remember she won the popular vote in many states but lost the delegates because of the cacus system and the super delegates being able to suppor who they wanted and not the will of the people. Some Democrats have said that Senator McCain's choice was caving into the old politics but it was a grass roots voice that wanted a pro life consertive on the ticket. Which party listens to the people?

Neither party ever listens to the people, lol. They do what they want to do and what the lobbyists are paying them to do. But I agree with your view on Obama's nomination. It was definitely something pushed through by the good old boys in order to stick it to Clinton. But I don't think Obama sees it that way. Judging by last night's speech he seems to see himself very much like the personification of Martin Luther King's dream, the crown jewel of the movement. I think King turned in his grave. I used to like Obama, but he is full of himself now.

McCain won the nomination by winning primarys. People had a say, even if some of us were not happy with his selection, the people had a chance to vote on his choice.

Neither. If the Republicans had been listening then McCain would not be the candidate. Now that he is, the party realized that they screwed the pooch, and the only way to keep conservatives from going elsewhere was to throw them a true conservative in the VP slot. I feel much better about McCain with Palin as the VP.
