Please learn something about international law -- especially the laws of war before you make comments like this. Hussein was convicted because he had a deliberate policy of killing civilians who disagreed with him (political killings). The US went into Iraq to enforce the UN resolutions against him for his original invasion of Kuwait (there are still a large number of Kuwaiti civilians unaccounted for from that invasion -- one of the requirements of the ceasefire was that Hussein account for them). The US is NOT pursuing a policy of deliberately targeting civilians. If civlians are harboring insurgents, or insurgents themselves, they are a legimitate military target -- under the international rules of war. Also, most of the people killed are killed by other Iraqis or foreign insurgents, not Americans. That is not US policy, nor is it our fault. We did not get rid of one dictator so that they could fight over who would be the next dictator.

There's also the practice of reporting insurrgent casualties as civilian.. let alone surrounding themselves with civilians and basing in hospitals, schools and mosques.. People think terrorism is a passing fad and boys will be boys.. because surely we're all evolving into better, kinder people.. I call all that kool aid drinking dark peace.. and they've no idea how dangerous.. and figure everyone else is just scaremongering..

Are you suggesting that the US invaded Iraq to enforce UN resolutions? You might want to consider that the international community was totally against an invasion (preferring to keep the UN inspection team there) and Bush and Blair ignored them. The UN wanted sanctions and continung inspections for WMD. The gung-ho Bush and Blair double team decided otherwise.

Can't you remember how long it took for Suddam to let the U.N. inspectors in? It was months. Plenty of time to transport everything to Seria.

Although I agree that the attack in Iraq had a sly reasoning behind it I think that if we pull out now the Sunnis and Shiites are going to go at each other relentlessly. That will kill a ton of people because it will basically put them into a civil war.
