Our trip to Catalina Island

While we were in California, it was really important to my husband to go to Catalina Island. That was one of the last places his mother visited before she passed away and he really wanted to go there. It's a very pretty island in the Pacific, not far from San Deigo. We went by boat and did a coupld of the tours. The Casino there is wonderful - it's not a gambling casino, but a theatre/ball room. We had a great time on the tours and just walking around. I had never heard of this place before my husband mentioned it, but I'm sure glad he did!

I am glad that you and your husband had a wonderful time on Catalina Island. I wanted to go there the last time I was in California but I didn't get over there due to sailing times. The casino was unusual because gambling like in Las Vegas is the only activity I think went on there. Walking around I am sure you got some pretty coastal views.

It is beautiful, and we took a tour around the island to see the seals - there seemed to be hundreds of them!
The casino is not a gambling casino - and never was. I think it was the french translation of the word casino is "place of gathering and entertainment" and that's what it was.
