2008 Olympics

I didn't get to watch as much as I wanted to this year, plus I think the tv networks only show the really popular sports, when there is so many more "smaller" sports that are just as exciting.
I just stumbled across this website this morning that has three pages of beautiful pictures taken at the Olympics:

These pictures I think captured the true meaning of the Olympics and I don't think NBC did that this time around.

i just watched men's basketball especially the game of USA vs Spain, & other sports like swimming, boxing, table tennis.. but sad to say we didn't get any medal, yeah we received gold medal from wushu but it wasn't counted coz it's just a demonstration event. but i hope in 2012, our country will get gold medal..

Wow, I'm sorry that the Phillipines didn't win a medal.
I didn't watch any of the boxing, I prefer olympic boxing over professional.

I din really watched it all, except for some parts of table tennis whereby singapore won korea and enter the finals, resulting in the 2nd silver medal in olympics since 1960.. lol
Other than that, i will be watching mainly althetics events or 100m runs to marathons.. hehe =D Because i like running and i try to see and learn form the way they run, though it's boring for most ple because they will be running just laps around the stadium.. hehe

Appreciate it a lot. I too missed quite a bit of the games. Partly becos I am not a big fan. But I do love to see beautifully captured moments of the games.
I wonder what camera and lenses was used to capture those beautiful moments.
I will go back and see if I can download all the pictures to keep. Heh heh...

I absolutely loved the Olympics this year! I watched as much as I could. I had them on in the background pretty much anytime I was home, even if I was cleaning, cooking, or whatever. I suspect you are right about alot of other sports events not being televised.
Those pictures are so cool! The one with Venus and Serena Williams was just fantastic! Thanks for sharing that.

You are welcome. I loved going to different places and seeing televisions pulled out. It was so cool.
I need to spend some time out at the official website because I didn't get to see the opening or closing ceremonies and they are always so awesome. Just need to find time to do it.

Those are some really good pictures! So much color and up close and shows their expressions! I didn't watch much of the Olympics I find most of it boring but I do like to watch the gymnastics Shawn finally won gold in balance beam and I like to watch the syncronized swimming too that is neat.

We love watching the gymnastics, I have a budding gymnists in our house. We recorded the events and watched them the next day. They were so awesome.
I honestly think they had way too many interviews and other things on. I believe this time could have been spent showing the other events but I'm not a corporate executive who says what is reported and what is not.
