How Can We Prolong Life or the Sharpness of a Razor?

I need to shave my mustache, beard and sideburns regularly to look neat especially when going to the office. To get a clean shave I need to buy a new razor every other week. The razor blades become dull after two weeks. Is there a way to make the life of the blades longer? Is it true that using shaving cream makes the sharpness of the blade last a little longer compared to just using water or soap? Does it matter if you use hot or cold water to clean the blades after use? Just Curious?

Clean after each stroke, yes it takes a lil too much effort but thats the best way, this way the hair wont get stuck inside in Bulks and the razor will remain sharpe and stable too!

im not sure about the water but i know you are meant to dry them after you use them,i was maing the mistake of not drying them for years and wondering why they went dull quicky, I had a look at your picture, you look very smart!
