Are you a gambler or a tourist?

So many people are always asking "what is there to do in Las Vegas besides gambling?" Yes, there are many, many activities in LV besides gambling! DH and I enjoy some fine (and some not-so-fine) dining and shows, but we are gamblers. We spend most of our time in the casinos, earning our next free room. When you visit Las Vegas, do you spend most of your time with "Lady Luck" or are you out sporting your tourist wear, seeing the sites, the shows, shopping, etc.?

We used to go a lot and we always seemed to get free rooms, but times are kind of tough now so we haven't been lately. I love seeing the shows and the restaurants! Now, I gotta plan to go back there next year!

When I lived in Southern California I used to go to Las Vegas all the time. On one of my first visits I blew through my money on the first day of our week long trip. We very quickly discovered there were many other things to do in Las Vegas besides gambling. We went to the zoo, the Natural History Museum and sight-seeing. Usually though we gamble and then see a show and eat out at at least 2 good restaurants. The rest of the time it is the buffets and watching the waters at Bellagio, etc. I love Las Vegas. We really don't get out there as much as we used to as we live in Florida now. I really wouldn't mind having a time share out there one day if I could afford it. Have a great day and happy myLotting!!!

I usually do a bit of both. I like to wander around, walking on the strip, going shopping and stuff. But I spend a lot of my time at the casino.

Greetings casinocat. My husband and I go to Las Vegas at least once a year. We've been visiting Vegas for twenty years and stayed at several different hotels. We are not "big time" gamblers, but we do like the slot machines. Much of our time is spent walking our legs off up and down the strip and inside the casinos and shopping mall areas. We love exploring the resort/casinos. We typically attend 1 show each trip, but we have had a few trips where we saw no shows and a few where we saw 2 shows. We usually stay either 4 or 5 nights. If we get down by the Showcase Mall (is that what it's called?) on the strip, we'll walk through it and check out the sales as a diversion. We've taken the junkets to McLaughlin. Last time, we went over to the Palms, we'd never been there. We also went to the Rio--we've been there several times over the years. That is so fun that you earn a free room! Impressive! We've never done that although we do have players' cards for several of the casinos. I guess we probably don't gamble enough. Plus, we only do slots. Years ago, I played blackjack. But, gosh, I thought the dealers were sort of mean, so I stopped doing that. Great discussion!

Hi PearlGrace! I'm laughing about "walking our legs off up and down the strip"! Don't we all know that pain! LOL! Oh yes! The Showcase Mall is always a nice diversion!
