how would you feel when somebody you love undergoes an operation?

Its different when It is I who will undergo an operation. i dont worry as much as when somebody I love does. this is how I felt when my son had to undergo a tonsilectomy. He was 14 when our ENT decided that his tonsils were to be taken out since it was infected almost every month already. There was the risk that the infection will affect his heart. I really felt so sorry for my son.There was so much procedure to be done involving needles. After the operation, he could only eat vanilla ice cream, white gelo and really cold soup. I really wished it was me there in his place instead. When I had my gall bladder taken out, I didnt feel as nervous as with my sons operation. Did you have to go over this experience?
