Do you have a favorite version (movie or book)?
I remember when the version came out in the 1970's that was really good. I can't remember the actor who portrayed Frankenstein (but he was a very good looking actor). I think his name was Michael Suss (and I can't remember the rest).
I also liked the version "Young Frankenstein" with Gene Wilder.
There are three known "days', and as a result, a little confusion. We have Frankenstein Friday, National Frankenstein Day, and Frankenstein Day.
Frankenstein Day is on August 30. This day is in honor of author Mary Wollenstone Shelly who was born on August 30,1797. She wrote the book "Frankenstein "in 1818. This day in in honor of her birth.
Frankenstein Friday is the Friday before Halloween. We traced some references to it back to a website on Frankenberry cereal, which suggests a commercial origin. Origin and details unknown.
National Frankenstein Day Google posts this as October 29th. We have not been able to verify that this as a true National Day.

I must honestly say that I've never read any of the books about Frankenstein. I have seen one or 2 of the movies. And who doesn't love the one with Gene Wilder? I guess I didn't realize that one had any real similarities to the original story since it was so silly. That's definitely my favorite Frankenstein movie.
