I bought some but I would never eat them that's for sure! They also have "amber" covered scorpions that are edible... I don't know how to me it looked like they still had their stingers but who am I to judge the eating habits of America?!?
I really want to know if anyone has tried these as well lol! The chocolate covered maggots looked so delectable in their creamy milk chocolate! lol

I've heard of all sorts of chocolate covered insects and what-not and no thank you, I won't be trying any of them any time soon.
I love chocolate and I know that sort of thing is a delicacy in other parts of the world, but I have my limits!

Oh I don't think I could even look at chocolate covered crickets! Gross! Never tried and don't want to, lol. I don't get grossed out unless it has something to do with food. Hubby used to watch Fear Factor and he got sick one time when they were eating these huge cockroaches! He quit watching it after that, lol. Have you ever watched that show? :)

I have never bought or tried them. I am posting because I have heard of an insect bowl at Purdue University where they have all kinds of events but also eat all kinds of insects.

No I've not had chocolate covered crickets but I've certainly heard of them. All I can say is, "Yuck, gross, and icky." I'm afraid I wouldn't be able to eat one if there were some right in front of me. I bet they're really crunchy.

I am in the US and I HAVE eaten them. I have also eaten a nacho cheese covered mealworm. But BOTH were sold at a the museum gift shop on a dare. Now I work at Thanksgiving Point where that museum is and so when kids come on field trips and get the chance to try an insect "snack" and ask "have YOU eaten one?!" I can say "Yes, and I LIVED... but I won't say I LIKED IT!!!"
The cricket was crunchy and didn't taste BAD... but the thought was just too much for me... especially when I got a little LEG stuck on my tongue! The Mealie was better. It was relatively flavorless... like a tiny Cheetoe! *shudder*
At least now when I feed them to my sugar gliders (withOUT chocolate or cheese, of course) it makes me giggle a little. THEY love them. Me? NO WAY. Once was enough.
