I'm so excited for this years hunting season. My fiance, Justin, loves to hunt. Last year he got his first buck. I really didn't care about the rack, I cared about how much it weighed. That one buck gave us a whole bunch of meat. We are on our last pack. So hunting season couldn't have come at a better time. This year he applyed for 3 tags, so hopefully he will get all three and we will be well supplied with meat for the year. We personally don't believe in hunting an animal unless you are using it as a food source. Do you eat deer meat? Do you hunt or know someone who hunts? Do you believe in killing for a trophy, or only for food?

I personally don't hunt my fiance Justin does. He hunts to provide food for our family. If it weren't for the meat that he got last year we wouldn't have had any meat plenty of times. I agree though that killing an animal is sad, and that oneday they have to die. But we don't just get a deer to throw it away for the antlers, we actually use it for food. Thanks for your response. Happy mylotting.

I do not believe in hunting for sport. Hunting is necessary for population health and control, but animals should not be killed just for the racks or the furs. I don't even fish unless I intend to eat what I catch, or unless I know someone else who wants some fish. I haven't been able to go hunting in the last few years, but I hope to get back into it this year if I can find somewhere to go. I am usually the same way with hunting, though. Once I get a few deer in the freezer for the year, I am done unless I know someone who could use the meat. I wont kill it if I am not going to eat it. Trophy hunters are generally wasteful and lazy. I have seen entire deer carcasses left in the woods to rot. The hunters only took the head or the rack itself, and left good meat to rot away. Those are the hunters that really upset me. Someone could have benefited from that meat if the hunters had not been too lazy to process it and give it to someone. Hunting is necessary...but we need to use all that we can of the animals we take...

People really upset me when they leave a deer to rot in the woods and only take their antlers. There are places where we live that actually take donations of deer meat, and give it to people who need it. We usually get enough to fit in our freezer and then he is done hunting, unless his parents or someone we know needs the meat. thanks for your response, and happy mylotting.
