Do you often ask your kids who they love more? mom or dad? who is the disciplinarian? Mommy or daddy? IN my house I am the strict one but the kids knew that when daddy gets mad, he really mean it. Most of the time he is the one who give in to them. Actually I always tell my hubby that he should not get mad to our kids because he is the on who is working and the kids see him not that often. I told him if on rare moments that they bond he would just get mad, the kids may not grow loving him, as for me we are together 24 hours a day and so it is just OK to get mad at them and they would not think bad about me. but when asked, my kids will tell that it is their dad's anger that they are afraid of. but also it is their daddy that give the toys

I am yet to experience this from my kids..
But when i was kid, my mom used to be always with me and my dad comes home once in 2 days..but every moment mom takes care me a lot in everything and when my dad comes i jump on him and really we hug each other...I proud to say i am dad's son but i learnt all the family culture from my mom.
After all , Now i say my MOM is great

Ha!ha!ha! The toys will wipe away the fear for Dad! Anyway, it is always normal that kids are afraid of the Dad more than the Mom. Why because the Moms normally are the loving and affectionate ones. We hug, we kiss, we patiently look after them more than a Dad could do. They tend to be closer to us than to their Dads. Even if we discipline them and spank when needed they still get a bigger fear when it's the Dad who gets mad. Maybe because the father has a stronger character and it has an impact on how kids look at them.
You are right in your advice to your hubby. Your children should see more of the loving nature from your hubby so that they will not lose the love over fear.
Have a nice day!
