Drying seeds

I just got done rinsing off the canteloupe seeds I saved from the canteloupe I got at the farmers market yesterday. I have them spread out drying in the sun now. I will be using them to grow my own canteloupe. I also saved a bunch of seeds from the jalapeno pepper I got from the farmers market yesterday. I used the pepper in my homemade fresh salsa so I saved the seeds to dry. Do you save seeds? I usually won't for produce bought in the stores but I do for anything I get at the farmers market. I also save seeds from veggies out of my own garden. Like my habenero peppers I will be saving seeds from it cause that pepper plants has done fantastic!

I haven't because I had heard that seeds from genetically-modified plantings will not grow, or if they do grow will not be the same as the parent plant. I don't know much about it, so I didn't want to risk trying to save seeds.

I havent but it makes sense to do so. My sister has planted peach pits before in an effort to grow her own trees. You could also save the seeds out of a pumpkin in order to grow some pumpkins. It would be very interesting to what kind of plants would come up from the seeds. Maybe I will try growing some pumpkins from seeds this year and find out what sorts of things might grow from them.

I will be saving all my pumpkin seeds, squash seeds and gourd seeds as well when I get them out of the garden. Saves money on buying seeds when you save your own.
