How long does your anti-virus take to scan your PC?

I'm using AVG free edition with automatic updates. I do full scan all the time. It takes more than 56 minutes to finish. I don't use the computer while it's running a scan because AVG really slows up everything to the point of exasperation. But for it to take almost one hour to run - is this normal?

Hi friend, i use Avast AntiVirus Home Edition. For scanning my computer, i need more than one hour. I have lots of files in my computer. Maybe your software is better. I have to reinstall my windows in near day. There is something problem in speed. Thanks

Hi friend! I also tried Avast and I wasn't very satisfied with it, I also found it too slow, so I went back to AVG. I also think AVG is better than Avast. But AVG is still too slow to my liking.

this Time is depend of the configuration at your computer, AVG didn't took all this time For me, but i just Scan the C: which is 40Go , then i switched to NOD32 which take about 5 minutes to scan my whole system, and all the applications running to my computer. Try it ,it's really good, AVG also is good but kinda Slow, in mine it's took about 10 Minutes when i used it.

if you are using a fairly older version of windows with avg8 it will take longer but what I do is to have it scan while i am at lu nch so by the time I get back its done. it always take mine about as long as you say yours does but that is a full scan. it is normal on older windows they tell me if you have window 2007 or higher it goes much faster,I cannot afford to upgrade yet.

I have an AVG complete scan going on one my ThinkPad that has about 60 GB of data on it has now been running for 13 hours and 38 minutes and I have no idea as to how much longer it is going to take. There has to be a better option out there. Maybe I should just stop doing complete computer scans.
