Oh how I hate ants

I just got done pulling tomato plants up so that I can plant the new ones and the pot was full of ants.....fireants at that! I hate them hate them hate them. There is no getting away from the dang things here in florida. So I will dump the whole pot out in the trash wash it out and start over in it. I don't dump them out in the yard cause we got enough problems there with them already.
Do you have ant problems? Fireants? We have put out ant granules, eerything we can and still have major problems. I have killed off countless mounds of ants with borax and sugar (it really works by the way).

I'll have to try the borax and sugar because I live in SC and well we have those lovely fireants to. I hate them soooo much and yes they like flower pots....lol They love my feet to. I have noticed when it rains there are a lot more little mounds in the yard. I know we had ants in California but not like these mean things in the South.

Last week we got tons of rain. On Friday, after it finally let up, my brother went out in the yard and found one of THE BIGGEST ant hills I had ever seen. One little section of our yard was almost black because of all the ants that had come to surface.
He washed away the ant hill, but, we're still not quite sure if it helped out or not.
Just the thought of it makes me itchy. Ants are annoying!
