Why do Brides to be cry on their wedding day?

I have attended several weddings this year and I'm curious why do brides-to-be cry themselves out while they are walking down the aisle towards the altar. I was fortunate enough to interview some of them but the answers are so general and they themselves don't know why they cried. It is really a wonder for me why do brides-to-be cry while marching towards the altar on their wedding day. Do you know why?

Well, it wasn't like that for me. If it were, I probably would have cried. It was never my "dream" to get married, it was just something I chose to do. And my wedding day was the most miserable day of my life. My mother was in the hospital and most of my guests were very cruel about it and the rest were only there because they were invited, all anyone would talk about was my mother.

Oh my! I'm so sorry to hear that. I didn't know you had a miserable wedding. It not your fault your mom was in the hospital the time that you are supposed to get married. Don't blame yourself. I'm sure your mom understood the situation completely. Smile gloomcookielex, everyone deserves to be happy. Always bear that in mind.

That's exactly what should happen. You're not suppose to be crying on your wedding day because supposedly it is the fulfillment of a woman's dream. It is supposed to be the happiest day in a woman's life. That's why it is a puzzle for me seeing those marching brides-to-be crying while marching towards the altar. I really don't get it.

Not all brides cry on their wedding day. I didn't. But if ever I did, it would only because of happiness. I found out months after my wedding that there are people very close to me who cried. why? because they were just happy for me. It's a good thing I didn't see them while they were crying or I could have spoiled my make up!!LOL Sometimes we cry because were extremely happy. So, when its you're turn to walk down the aisle, don't cry he he so you'll still be pretty long after the reception is over.

So it is mainly because of overjoy? I never cried cuz of extreme happiness so I don't know how it feels and if that really is true. Yes it's true! I was also worried about those brides-to-be washing their make up off cuz of their tears. lol. I'll take that in mind mythic0805. I don't wanna look like a monster on my wedding day you know with all that smudged make up.lol. Thanks for the tip.

Oh gosh! I think that's exactly what will happen to me. I'm gonna cry cuz I won't be going home after the wedding. And I will surely miss my bed. Yikes! Well, good thing I'm not getting married anytime soon.

I didnt cry on my weddingdays (had 3) but I felt nervous. The crying could come from a relieve that the stress off getting married is ended, the day is finally there. The crying could also be of letting go away your childhood and be a woman soon. Or the crying could be as you see, unexpected but very appriciated members sitting in the church. Or brides to be cry just out of common sense, every bride cries. Or she cries because it just touches her so much. I havent read the other answers to this discussion yet, just wanted to give my explanation. Can you do something with my answers?

Lucky for you to have had three weddings. So it's the stress which ended that day, the letting go of your singlehood, the spectators reactions which made u cry also or just because? Well, it does make sense after all. Women just cries just because...hehehe. Anyway, thanks for giving me your insights about this. I'll see you around, OK?

Well, all I can think of is a twist on the cow story. They just realized that they are giving the cow away when they could be getting $4.39 a gallon for the milk.

Well if not that, I would think it is the groom who should be doing the crying. After all, he is the one buying the cow when he could be getting the milk for free. He he he.... No, I'm not a male chauvinist pig. Please don't stone me. I'm just joking with you.
