Does anybody know the background of myLot? Who started it? When? Why? Is stock available for purchase? Is there a business plan for future expansion? I've become an addict, and now I want to know just what it is that has me hooked!

Not alot, actually. People've been trying to figure out who created it, who runs it...with little luck. Mostly, all we know is what they tell us via alerts, lol. I have no idea if stock is available either. Come to think of it...they're pretty cryptic.

Doesn't that increase your need to know? I'm practically chafing at the bit! I've gone to every search engine I could think of, and I've gotten absolutely nowhere! How fascinating! Would I be totally out of line if I were to assign myLot to one of my students as the Senior Research Project? I'm sure Administration would have a lot of questions, but so do I? More than anything, at this point, I want to know why they don't want us to know!

Mylot's pretty kid-friendly, their rules make it that way...so I'm sure it'd mostly be fine. I am pretty curious, but they're pretty hard core mysterious types. My Mom was on here, for awhile, and she tried everything she could think of to find out -- to no avail. It is interesting, but most websites that pay you for participation are similiar...at least to their "You don't need to know who we are" thing...usually all the other data, where the site's based at, when it was started, if there's stock...is there, but for some reason those who pay us don't want us to know them. And Cat, it's been suggested before that they might be shady...but when they're so serious about creating a fair environment (and all of us vets who've been on here for years know they're serious about it 'cause they delete anything and everything that violates the rules without exceptions and pretty quickly) it's hard to think that they could be bad. Maybe they're secretly scientists who're studying human behavior in an environment like this. And it'd ruin their experiment for all of us to find out. I've got a big thing about curiousity, I really do...but I figure the longer I hang around, the sooner I'll figure something out about them. No one's perfect in fully concealing themselves...especially not on the web. So mostly I kick-back and observe.

I sent them a PM, and I can hardly wait to see the response, if I get one. Then I want to know how they maintain this secrecy, so maybe more of us can get off the whole world's (it seems) radar and regain privacy!

yeah, your question is rather intereting cause we all get busy writing, replying messages, but never thought of whom we are working for or what else we can do to help the web.

You put it beautifully, Gabbana! Sure, we're here for ourselves, but we certainy are helping the web.

You're right, Tamara, but the less I can find out, the more I want to know. SOMEBODY's in charge here. I wonder why they don't want us to know who they are?
