What are some ways you try to save money? Cutting down on eating out, coupons, etc...

One of the ways to save money these days is to cut down use of energy, i.e. electricity and gasoline. These are getting very expensive these days with the crude oil price rising. So, I try to economize on the use of these. I have even stopped using my own car driving to my work place. Instead, I take the public transport. That's more ecenomical.

I really had to work on this this summer since i decided to take the summer off work... one of the main ways we managed it was to use lots of coupons for shopping , make a list and stick to it... dont just grab stuff... we also price compare and go generic most times... Our biggest way of saving was on the cars gas bill... i would make sure i didnt have to get gas but every 2 weeks...and in my crossover that is saying something... we also eat out alot less... i also stay away from store i know i would be tempted to buy stuff in.... we also put up all credit cards so we arent tempted on that front either... it is hard but doable...:)

We all want to save money. But the process is not a very pleasant one. You can probably cut down on the heater during winter and rely more on warm clothing. Make use of discount coupons however small the value. And don't buy unwanted things. This is what I do.
