AVIRA ANTIVIR or AVG FREE? what is the best free anti-virus? / myLot

I have been a fan of AVG Free for the past two years but I notice that it cannot detect all of the viruses that mostly out in lurk. Script viruses especially from flash drives are hard to disinfect. And I came across with Avira Antivir. I am so happy because it detects almost all! My computer is always free from viruses, malwares and any bad programs. Thanks to Avira. For you, who wins as the best anti-virus?Avira or AVG?

I would recommend to have the Avira. Avira works best for a home desktop computer.

hi mmso5084 I am sold on my new free avg 8, maybe you did not upgrade to AVG 8 its kept my computer free from' virus and I have no complaint at all with it. I have had it now for several months and am sold on it, will not] switch to second quality virus protections like Norton or 'McAfee that cost an arm and a leg.
