PTC referrals

I am part of Isabelmarco PTC site, I just purchased 5 referrals and was wondering if it really works. Do the referrals that you purchase work as well as ppl you refer? Do they work better? What if the referrals become inactive? Will the site replace them with active referrals? Guess I should have asked these questions before making the purchase :)
