Do you track your orders when shopping online?

When you buy something online usually the site will give you an email, sometimes their will be a site that you can click on to track your order. Whenever you shop online or buy something online do you ever track your orders? Or do you just not worry about it and wait until it shows up at your doorstep or in your mailbox? Most of the time I just wait until it is either in my mailbox or at my doorstep and don't worry about tracking the order. I will occasionally, if it is something that I really want and can't wait to get or if it is taking forever to get to me and I want to know what's going on with it. If you do track your orders how often do you check it? If I ever do track them, I will usually do it every few days or so. Do you get excited when you see the box even though you know what it is? I do sometimes, especially if it is something that I really want. I will occasionally even get a little excited if it is something that I bought for someone else. I don't know why I do, I just do.

Once it's been long enough that I'm seriously wondering what happened to the order, I begin tracking. Once, the order never arrived, and the website was gone, so I do check. I also try not to deal with fly-by-night companies, but you can't always tell.

I've become really careful. Some time ago, I ordered some things for my classroom that never arrived. I didn't know it was a fly-by-night company, which means they're in business long enough to get a lot of people's money, then they disappear before anyone who didn't receive their stuff can check them out.

Thanks for the "best". I just received a $100 gift card from Macy's because an order did not arrive, and they didn't have a replacement. My order wasn't for that much, but they said they were apologizing for the error. That couldn't have happened without tracking, and without such a reputable company!

fly-by-night? What's that? Have you ever not had a company send you something? I usually buy from companies that have been around for a long time.

If they have a tracking number I watch it like a hawk...I love watching it get closer and closer until bingo...it's here. :) Besides I'm terribly impatient and can hardly wait for things to get here. **AT PEACE WITHIN** ~~STAND STRONG IN YOUR BELIEFS~~

I'm bad but my Hubby is 100 times worse. He drives me nuts when he's waiting for a package. It's almost like he's stalking the poor delivery guy LOL We're going through it right now b/c he ordered some memory for his pc and I'm surprised he's not out on the porch in a chair watching for him LOL **AT PEACE WITHIN** ~~STAND STRONG IN YOUR BELIEFS~~

I'm not that impatience, unless it is something I have been wanting for a long time. Then I might get impatience. I never did track the orders when I bought things online until a little while ago. I don't know why, I guess I just never thought of it.

I don't order anything online and in case I do I would want to track it down if possible. I work in a company where in people order from me and I track their packages because I don't want them to get lost or delayed. Then when it comes to them I try to make sure that everything came in well.

That's good. I am sure that there are companies that don't do that.

I love to track my orders. I don't care what it is, I have to track it. I just like knowing where my order is. I like getting mail so it's nice to know that I have something coming to me soon. I also hate waiting for things so tracking it helps keep me occupied about where it is. I usually track packages several times a day. Sometimes if it's not that important or I'm not that excited about it, I will track it once a day or every other day. However if I'm really looking forward to it I track it as much as I can.

Well I guess it's good to always know where your package is. That way you know about when you will get it kind of.

Yes, I love when something I've bought online arrives! It's like getting a present even though I paid for it. As far as tracking, sometimes I will check to see if something has shipped but I normally just check the email the company sends and wait.

That's what I usually do. It does feel like that with me two. It's kind of exciting. Ever since I have started to receive samples in the mail I actually like checking the mail every now and then. I need to check it soon, I will probably do it tomorrow morning when I take my sister to the bus stop. They go back to school tomorrow, and her bus stop is where the mail boxes are.

I usually track my order. I want to make sure that it has been sent off, and I also want to make sure that I am home when it does arrive. Also I want to make sure that my credit card statement has it on it. Most of the time, it arrives earlier than what I expected because I usually get a notice that they will let me know when and if they have it in stock and if they do, they usually ship it immediately so the wait is usually checking to see if it is on my credit card statement online. After that, I can expect it within a day or so. Oh and I do not get exciting if it is for someone else. It never is. I go to the local stores and pick something on. Most of the stuff online is for me and it is something that I cannot get in the local stores, and I have wanted it for a long time.

I don't really check my credit cards that often, other than when the bill is due. I barely ever buy something with them, if it is something big that I do buy though I will usually check it. Sometimes I get the package earlier than expected but a few times I will get it later than expected, that is when I start to worry. For a long time when I was buying things online I would never track the order, now I will occasionally. Depending on what it is and how long it is taking.

I do shop online but tracking orders doesn't usually do any good. Usually, they will just say things like orders are being packed or that they are already shipped. Then what next? If they are shipped, it means the items are out of their hands and whether we get them or not is by luck. Thankfully I have always received my items fine. Like today, I just received something I order from a USA site and it took 3 weeks to arrive. C'mon... I don't know how some delivery services do things. When I post something to the States, I can get it there in a few days just by using normal low-end airmail. Anyway, it is not always that you are provided a tracking number. If you are using like DHL or FedEx registered and you get a tracking number, great, you can use it. It might provide more information - in fact it usually does - as least you know more precise locations of where your parcel is if you are ordering from another country especially. But unless this is the only mode of shipment, getting a tracking numbers usually means you need to pay more. I rather wait a while more and pay less, to be honest. I absolutely hate paying delivery charge and will opt not to order from a site unless the delivery charge is acceptable. It just doesn't make sense. After I order something, I would most probably be anticipating for it to arrive. If I wait like a month and still nothing, I would probably try contacting them to check. But you know I likely won't be ordering from that site again.

I always track the order. That way, I know what day the package is coming and I try to be home on the date given because I don't want anyone stealing it off my front porch! And yes, it's sad but I do get excited when I see the package. Even though I know it's nothing more than jeans I ordered for my kids or a book for my husband, when I see the package there's always this feeling of maybe it could be something else - something better! - that someone else sent to us! LOL!

Yes I get like that two, almost every time there is a package. I get more excited when I get a sample that I don't know what it is. I'm excited to open it up and see what it is. I recently bought a dvd for my sister and I was excited to get that even though it was for my sister.

Yes. Certainly. I've made quite a few online purchases so far. I always fear that my items will not arrive so I always make sure I have the tracking number so that I will roughly know when I can expect the items to reach Singapore. I'll check once every few days. If the items are taking longer than expected, I'll start emailing the merchant.

The only time I fear that my items won't arrive is when it starts to take a long time. That is usually when I start to track them. Some sites I will get my item quicker than expected and other sites it will take longer than expected.

I don't know. I have never had to wait that long for a package. Usually whenever I buy something it is suppose to arrive at the latest 5-8 days, sometimes 3-5 days. Just depending on the site and everything. One time I had a package that was for me deliver to me and one of my neighbors knocked on the door and handed me the package. I am glad they were nice enough to look on the package and not open it up.

Yeah I get excited a little bit when I see a sample in their and don't know what it is. So I could imagine being excited over something bigger that you don't know what it is. I buy my family things online but I usually don't give them whatever it is until the occasion I bought it for them.

Yes I always track my orders. I'm getting old I guess b/c the other day I placed a couple of orders for some things and I know I hit the button to finish the order but when I went back to check on it it was still in my buggy now I'm rethinking it and may buy it from a different site with cheaper shipping. I never get lucky and find cheap shipping or no shipping on stuff even after looking for coupon codes on other sites.

I do order online every month since I conduct courses here in our country and the hanbooks are from the United States. Usually as I order, they will give me the tracking code. I will usually wait 2 to 3 days and verify the shipment. Those are the usualy number of days that my shipment will arrive at the destination. I will just call the courrier and tell them to process the tax payment and have my orders delivered to me or in some cases advise them that I will just pick it up.

What are you taking classes for? I start school in October. I still haven't got my books yet, I have to do that sometime this month. I'm kind of excited and a little stressed about starting the classes. I'm glad I am finally starting school though, I took 2 years off of school after I graduated high school.

I track my orders a day after I ordered them online. I just want to make sure that they are doing something about my order and if not, I tend to worry that I may have bought something from a site that scams people. I sometimes find myself saying "OooOOooh, I wonder what's the box" even though I already know what's in it.

Yeah I get like that two. Whenever I have the box I can't wait to open it. Even though I already know what is in it. It's crazy that we are like that but funny at the same time.
