So West and East are all making threatening comments again - will the cold war come back... Assuming it does and someone presses that big red button (I always assume it to be red) The missiles are on their way and we have 10 minutes to live - what would you do? I am not sure what my reaction would/will be - what about you...

That's a tough one...so tough that I can't answer it because I've lived through the Cold War and am always prepared for anything...probably because I lived through the Cold War. Right now I live in south Florida and I don't believe that this are is on anyone's long list of targets, much less anyone's short list. If I still lived outside of Washington, D.C., where I lived for 45 years, I would get my family out of there long before any buttons were pushed. You know, when I was a kid we never felt that we would die if Russia bombed the U.S. Many of us had sealed fallout shelters in our basements, stocked with food and water so that we could live underground for several days until it was safe to come out. But, to finally answer your question, I would use that ten minutes to call my parents and my two kids in Md. to tell them that I love them, I would kiss my two daughters who are down here with me and my three grandchildren, I would tell my husband that I love him and then I would pray.

I also remember the last cold war - it is a bit scary quite how close we came to someone pushing that big red button. I think I agree with the essence of what you would do. I fortunately/unfortunately live right near an airport. Therefore I am libving next to a target. I think it would be better to go quickly if someone presed the button.
