When i think of Home

Even though my heart is here with my husband and two little boys, i still miss my old home. I am terribly homesick, having moved into a new country six months ago. There are times when i wake up, wishing that this is just a dream and hope to wake up to the sounds i used to hear every morning when i wake up back in my country. It is so quiet here and i feel all the more lonely. And i miss my mother, my papa, brothers, sisters, and nephews. My parents, me and my married siblings were neighbors, so we'd always spend time together - eating, playing badminton, or just lounging inside my parent's bedroom, together with our spouses and kids. My life here is so much different. And the internet and phone is my only "connection" with them. I miss shopping at the malls back home, i miss commuting and talking even to strangers in my native dialect, i miss eating our poor man's food called "Guinamos" with rice, i miss hanging out with my girlfriends,...oh i miss a thousand and one things about my country, my home. I tried so many things to get over this, but there is a certain "pain" that silently throbs inside my heart and just wouldn't go away. Now i feel what my brother felt when he once worked abroad. So this is homesickness. I wonder when this will go.
