Ok I'm a poutine junky. What can I say I love those artery clogging death dishes. I've tried one from all the fast food joints that offer them and I must say that I find Kentucky Fried Chickens to be the best. Must be the gravy. What do you think

I definitely vote for KFC poutine. It's probably not authentic as far as the sauce goes, in terms of what is really Quebecois...but it's still the best in my book. For those who don't know, poutine is french fries with gravy and cheese. The original gravy for poutine is chicken based but dark and spicy. Some people use various other sauces, including BBQ gravy, spaghetti sauce, or beef gravy. The original cheese for poutine is cheddar curds which are white puffs that look about like packing peanuts. It's basically cheddar before it goes under pressure to be put into blocks. When it melts in the heated gravy it can get stringy but it sometimes holds it's chunky form. When the cheese is really fresh, made the same day if possible, it's usually very wet with whey and it squeaks on your teeth. The texture and taste of curd cheese is really unique. Some people use mozzarella or shredded cheddar or other cheeses, but again these are just variations on the classic.

I don't know if you're from quebec but i think that the best Poutine is "Ashton" one. In quebec city only (Montreal and others cities does not have that chance:P)
