I go online and check my account everyday. My account is just recently messed up but it's ok now. Maybe the reason why is friendster is very popular here because everybody knows about it even kindergartens and 50-yr old buddies. And its like you don't belong today's generation if you don't have one.

Hi,I was never hear the Friendster before. In China,I think,is not very popular.Few people use it.So I never used it.As for why Friendster is popular in philippines, may be due to the reasons for the use of habit or degree of product promotion. You know in China, most peple especially teens use QQ.

I don't have a Friendster account! Not because I am too old for that but because I really don't have time to engage in activities such as that. Time is too short and therefore too precious. While it is true that it promotes friendship, I would rather engage in a more productive online activity such as mylot where I could hit many birds in one stones.

I had an account. I cancelled it. I'm one of the few who are not that too sold on Friendster. I hope no Friendster afficionado here takes it against me . I guess it's becaues I'm way, way past my teen-age years? I do know some who are within my age range and are active in Friendster. I agree that Friendster is very popular among Filipinos. Reason? I guess Filipinos are simply, on the whole, a friendly lot.

I hear some say friendster is old and there are many social networking sites that are new and updated...i started friendster like 4 years ago..it was not so popular back then...my only friends are those my co-workers who are fond of uploading their pictures...but now...almost anybody has friendster..especially the youth...and i think i will stay longer and will use friendster still because i am connected to my cousins and relatives there.

i totally agree with you...my classmates and friends in high school are my friends here in friendster...its so cool to see their pictures and see how they are..some have already married..some still single..and most of them are not here in the philippines..they are abroad...so i guess i can say friendster is somewhat an avenue to show how well you have done in life.

im not sure, why it's so popular among the teens here in the Philippines... maybe the parents had introduced it to their kids... actually, i made accounts for my kids... and now they communicate with their classmates and cousins using friendster...

Hello Andak, This friendster thingy also flabbergasted me. Even while walking past an Internet cafe, most of the PC's were tuned in to Friendster. It is just one of your regular social networking site. I could have agree that it is a good platform to meet and socialize new friends. But to have your photos and personal details plastered all over isn't cool at all. Maybe it is just a passing trend but one must practice precaution in socializing with anyone most especially through online. For all we know, they are using a different photos and a fake profiles. There was even a headline news not many months ago about a girl who disappeared after meeting one of her friendster's mate. Our little ones may not knew about the danger they are entering. Hope they could be wise enough not to be too trusting with online friends.

Yup...Pinoys definitely go by the saying "Do as the Romans do." Even within the confine of your own group of friends, I can't help but notice that most of them will dressed-alike, talked-alike, you know what I mean. Somehow, this sort of lost your own sense of identity. Oh well...that's Pinoy for you. :) PS: Sorry to tell you, but I have not one single drop of Filipino blood flowing in my veins. I was only adopted by the Philippines, lol!

I have an account with friendster and so are my husband, daughter, brothers and sisters. Friendster is our way to update each other as our families are far from each other. I don't update my account often, unlike my blog which is updated always.

Hi there! I think Friendster is popuilar not only in the Philippines its because you get to post pictures, events and places you have been especially for those who travel alot and be able to show them to others. You can also meet new friends and can check out your old friends too. I have a friendster account but I don't use it, even once I have never posted anything in it. I'm not that enthusiastic about the site. I only had an account because of my brother. I am not a traveller. I hate travelling so I wouldn't be able to post pictures of places I've been. I also don't like showing my picture in the net. Me and my friends communicate not in a friendster style. I have nothing against the site. I'm not just so fond of it. Ciao!

i have a friendster account. but I dont update and visit it that often. I am too occupied responding in myLot and posting in forums . It's popular to other because, even if friends or classmates dont see each other often, they can still be updated on what's happening with their lives. take care
