i feel homesick very often, especially now that my bf and i got back together. i went home once since i came here in the mideast (that was last year and i've been here for 2 years)... im on my third year here in the mideast with my parents and my brother. i still miss my friends, my sister, our home, my activities and most of all my bf. i sometimes wish i could just go home, unfortunately, i can't right now!

I don't remember ever being homesick, although I left home to go to work at age 17. After I married, we frequently lived hundreds of miles from my family and even farther from my husband's family. There were letters and phone calls and yearly visits to one set of parents or the other. I enjoyed our visits, but my home was with my husband and children.

i'm one of those people who left at age 19
and returned to my home town when i was 35.
when i lived in san francisco, i missed the changing of
the trees in autumn. the trees in san francisco, changed
in mid-january and only for a few weeks.
but, i have been lucky that i never suffered from the pangs
of homesickness.
not even as a child.
the first year i went to church camp, i only went for free
because my mother was a counselor there.
on the second day she began crying. she was so homesick!
the third night my father called to see how things were going.
she went crashing through the night and the trees to get the
phone call.
i don't know if this is good or not.
i've always felt very secure in my surroundings.
i've always been fortunate to make friends, no matter
where i have lived.
