He called me earlier today and they were heading to Lafayette LA. He said they had saw some damage in Miss and other towns in LA, but Lafayette was supposed to be worse so they were sending them there. Hopefully he'll get to call again soon and give me an update. Sometimes when on storm duty they work to 9 or 10 pm so I never know when to expect a call.

Hey there. Sounds like your husband is out in the thick of things, working hard. That would be tough not knowing when the next time is that you'll be able to talk to him. My husband travels a little (not nearly as much as he used to) and he usually calls me at the same time each evening, so it's predictable. Take care. Hope he comes home soon.

He never gets set times to call. Usually he can send me a message in the mornings before they start out but not always. Sometimes they are in places with no cell phone coverage, and the regular phones are out. I really don't like those times! If I can talk to him at least once a day I'm ok.

I've been keeping an eye on the Weather Channel and have seen all the videos of the storm damage. I looks like the worst of it is the flooding and power outtages. I'm glad there wasn't as much property damage as with Katrina! I hope your husband gets to come home soon. I'm sure you've had enough worrying by now! I've seen so much heroism during emergencies like this one and you can surely add your husband to the list of those guys! I'm sure you're very proud of him. Keep us posted!

I am proud that he's able to help. I miss him, but going away just comes with this job. I just always hope he stays safe. He called at lunch and said they'd done some this morning and were going to a new place.

Thanks for the update.. I see on the news that at lot of shelters were set up for the evacuees.. Prayerfully they will be able to go home soon and that your husband will be able to come home too. I am watching Hannah to see what is going on with her. I feel so sad for the people that is taking a beating from this. I wonder if the buses that evacuated them will be taking them back home. If not then that is another problem for them. Tell your husband stay safe and take care.

Thank you, I will. I think he gets tired of me telling him to be careful and safe..lol. I would imagine they will bus people back. I know some of them can't afford to do it on their own.
