Computers now a days has been seen as a necessary need in every house hold. Kids also takes interest in learning how to use computers. If you already have kids, how old are they when you let them use the computer? What do you think is the right age to teach your child to use?

My son learned computers as he grew up. Now he is 2 years and 5 months and has complete mouse control. He learned to log off may be at 18 months. So the right age I guess is after 2 years. I have only one son and I am sharing only one experience.

well my kids are 11 and 13 we started letting them on the pc when they were about 4 years old. they are still not allowed on the internet though. we get them games and programs for there age levels and let them play on it that way. in fact they both have pcs in there rooms but like i said no internet. if they are caught online they lose the pc , dirt bikes etc. the only pcs that are online are the ones in the living room and they are not allowed to turn them on or use them unless we are doing something for school and then we are right there with them usally doing the typing and searching. we think it is good for them to know how to use a pc and etc and also the games and programs are great to learn. the internet though can be a different story.

I probably would teach my kids to use a computer when they turn 12 years old. It's part of the competition among kids in school nowadays that kids should be well verse in computers. I want my kids to be competitive in a way. But of course, we have to set limitations.
