Do you ever go through someone else's junk?

We have a junk cleanup in our area and alot of people have thrown their old junk out the front of their house for the truck to come and pick up. It always amazes me how many of my neighbours come and look through my junk and take stuff back to their house!! I would be embarrassed to do that! I mean, it's great if they can use it, but if i looked through others junk, i would do it in a suburb where i didn't know anyone! haha.
Have you ever looked through someone else's junk and taken something from the side of the road? Or have you had it done to you?

i did when i owned an antique store. my son was also interested in antiques & his wife use to call us sanford & son. i miss fooling w/it but got where i wasn't able to on account of my bad health. we cleaned out an old farm house once that belonged to a friend of my mother's, that was a blast.alot of hard work but enjoyed every minute of it.

A thing that intrigues me is the bags that are put out for the charities,im almost tempted to go across the road and rip them open to see what goodies people have donated,its not because I either want or need any of the contents of the bags,its curiousity,a desire to see what has been thrown away,what people have cast aside as being no longer any use to them,its just a fascinating insight into how others live.

I've never done that my friend. (Can't imagine going through people's stuff. Lol.) But I have had people go through my trash. They weren't neighbors, more like street kids looking through the trash to see if they could use anything. We have a lot of street people here in our country so it's a common sight.

In the town where I live, we take our rubbish to the tip. People often take home stuff they find there. Some have found amazing things...I only ever see rubbish and junk....lol. I guess I'm there at the wrong time. I haven'[t lived anywhere where they do street pickups for years and years....I would certainly pick up stuff I wanted...
